Privacy

The short version: the things you paste into these tools never leave your browser.

What the tools do with your input

All processing happens on your device in JavaScript. Text, numbers, tokens and files you drop into a tool are not uploaded, logged or stored anywhere by us. Some tools keep your current input in the page address (after the #) so you can bookmark or share a link; browsers do not send that part of the address to any server.

What the server sees

Like any website, our server and CDN receive the ordinary request data needed to deliver a page: your IP address, the page address, your browser's user-agent string, and the referring page. This is used for aggregate traffic counts and for blocking abuse, and is kept for a short period in server logs.

Cookies and storage

bitlvl itself sets no cookies. Your light or dark theme choice is kept in your browser's local storage and is never transmitted. Google Analytics (below) sets its own cookies to tell returning visitors from new ones.

Analytics

To see which tools are used and keep the site worth maintaining, two page-view counters run: Cloudflare Web Analytics (cookie-less, counts page loads at the CDN) and Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation. Both record the page address, referrer, browser and country, and neither can see what you type into a tool: inputs stay inside the page and the part of the address after # is never sent. Blocking either with a content blocker does not affect any tool.

Third parties

The DNS lookup tool sends the names you look up directly from your browser to the public resolvers at cloudflare-dns.com and dns.google, which is the same as using those resolvers from your computer; we never see the query. Apart from that and the two analytics scripts, no third-party scripts, fonts or embeds are loaded; fonts are served from this domain. If advertising is added in future, this page will describe exactly what the ad provider receives, before it goes live.
